Smart wallets are on-chain wallets that provide additional security and features to make your experience as seamless as possible. When you sign in, Trendies creates an on-chain smart wallet for you via the ZeroDev SDK.
You own and control your smart wallet.
If you sign in via a social account, Privy generates an EOA wallet that is tied to your social account. This EOA wallet is the signer and controller of your Trendies smart wallet. You can always export your wallet private key in the settings menu to use in another wallet of your choice.
If you sign in by connecting your own wallet, then your wallet is the signer and controller of your Trendies smart wallet.
Trendies does not have control over your smart wallet. All smart wallet transactions need to be signed by the controlling wallet.

Since smart wallets are on-chain wallets, they do not have a private key. Instead, they are controlled by the EOA signer.
Most centralized exchanges support deposits from smart wallets. Unfortunately, some exchanges (like Bybit) do not yet support deposits from smart wallets.
When depositing to exchanges that do not support smart wallets, simply withdraw to another wallet first before depositing to your exchange.
